Our Story

JESCORP FUNDING was founded by Jonathan Samuels in January 1996. Prior to entering real estate, Mr. Samuels completed his education in 1989, an undergrad degree in Industrial Technology with the Aviation Administration option and a minor in Marketing from Cal State Univ. Los Angeles. With his sight set on becoming a commercial airline pilot, like his father, he saw real estate, his mother’s profession, as a way to earn significant amounts of money to fuel his love for flying

After relatively short tenures in both residential and commercial real estate sales, Jonathan unexpectedly experienced huge success as a mortgage loan officer through his ability to conceptualize the needs of his customers, and paired with what was novel training at the time, learned how to skillfully use alternative documentation (formerly called sub-prime) mortgage products to assist borrowers with unique financial needs. He developed an ability to find real solutions to many of his customer’s genuine and sometimes pressing needs, readily identifying barriers to financing, and  eliminating or restructuring the issues of concern, often funding these transactions with the same conforming (A paper) financing the customer originally sought. As a result, a business based on professional referral sources and a satisfied customer base grew and thrived.

Jonathan Samuels

Jonathan Samuels, born in Cleveland, Ohio, moved with his parents to Los Angeles in 1966, and in 1975 settled in Diamond Bar, California. Upon graduating Cal State Univ. Los Angeles, Jonathan Samuels had tenures in residential, and subsequently, commercial real estate where he specialized in land tract sales to residential home builders.  Mr. Samuels entered the mortgage loan origination industry in 1992 under the tutelage of Home Loan Funding, an Irvine, California-based company with the niche in both conforming and subprime lending. In 1996, Mr. Samuels opened the doors of JESCORP FUNDING, which he has owned and operated for 30+ years.
Mr. Samuels has personally trained over 35 employees, providing them with a solid conceptual understanding of all aspects of mortgage loan origination and the necessary applied skills to compete effectively within the mortgage industry.  He has established a reputation as an elite mortgage loan originator and trusted loan referral source for generations of customers and lending industry professionals alike.
In his spare time Jonathan enjoys flying, a competitive game of basketball, or tennis…provided you “got game” against an incredibly fast first serve!

Carlos Orozco, a native of Los Angeles, California, is a seasoned real estate real estate associate broker and licensed mortgage loan originator.

Carlos became a part of the JESCORP FUNDING team in early 2022.   He brings a rich and diverse background in residential and commercial sales. He is a skilled arranger of financing with both institutional and private money. He also has a legal industry and income tax industry background. Carlos is bilingual in English and Spanish.

Mr. Orozco has had tenures with Century 21 Experience — Alta Lorna, Dynasty Real Estate — Ontario, CA, Excellence Real Estate – Victorville, and Prima Financial – La Habra, CA.

In his spare time, Carlos is a lover of music and enjoys playing the guitar. Mr. Orozco shares the customer-first ethic and attention to detail that has become the standard for our company. We wish Mr. Orozco a long tenure with JESCORP FUNDING as he is already considered as family.

When JESCORP FUNDING opened its’ doors, only four years after its founder, Jonathan Samuels, entrance to the mortgage industry, ever confident, and boldly optimistic about the company and the people it would serve, the company had an identity. Industry peers who knew Jonathan knew the kind of company it would become and what it would stand for – That the company would be driven to serve people, solve problems, and exceed expectations.

We originate all types of residential mortgage products with the most competitive pricing on the market. For the elite borrower, this breed of customer expects a simplified loan process and fast and efficient service. We have invested heavily in various technologies to ensure the service we deliver is as superior as the product itself. We are committed to ensuring each customer has a seamless loan origination experience.

Yet being fast is not the only criteria from which to measure a good mortgage company. The needs of today’s mortgage consumer are more diverse than ever before. We believe the relevance of any particular lender is measured by its’ willingness to address the needs of the community it serves. Surprisingly, some lenders fail to offer product lines for consumers with non-traditional sources of income even though a great need exists in many markets they serve. Others offer such products, but encumber them with restrictive guidelines. Conversely, JESCORP FUNDING is committed to providing more consumer choice and greater access to financing, believing both to be prerequisites for a stronger borrower and economy and healthier society at large.
